Obituary of Wayne Richard THOMAS

April 30, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta
December 4, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wayne Richard Thomas announces his passing at the age of 60 years.

Wayne was one of those rare Calgarians who was born, raised and educated right here at home. Wayne grew up in Southwest Calgary. He went to High School at Ernest Manning and subsequently went on to study business at the University of Calgary. Wayne’s discipline, ambition and work ethic led to a successful career in both the petroleum industry and the financial services sector where he excelled in both arenas. Wayne was never satisfied with just contributing, he wanted to be a decision maker. He achieved that goal at a young age. Wayne was never one to rest on his laurels. He also went on to study for and successfully complete all the requirements needed for designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst.

While Wayne was always a dedicated and committed Professional, he also enjoyed his time on the golf course with friends, his time behind the wheel of a high performance sports car and the occasional Cuban cigar.

More important than all these distractions, was the time he spent with his son Cole. Wayne was a loving and caring father who always wanted the best for his son. Like Wayne, Cole is proving to be a thoughtful and responsible young man who continues to make his father proud.

Left behind to cherish Wayne's memory are his loving family including his beloved son Cole, Cole’s mother Lisa, his brother Darrol, half sisters, Claudia and Christine; and Wayne’s cousins, Kerri, Dale, Gerry, Sue, Leslie, Sharon, and Eric.  Wayne was predeceased by his mother Mary, his father Richard and stepmother Lynn.

There are no plans for a funeral at this time but a private family service will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather together once again. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Wayne’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Wayne Thomas, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE NW, CALGARY, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
