Obituary of Orlando Guingab TARUN

March 11, 1939 - Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines           

December 6, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Orlando Guingab Tarun Sr., beloved husband of Rosario “Nene” Villa Tarun, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 81years.

Orlando was born in Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines on March 11, 1939. He immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1994. Orlando graduated from the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) with a degree in Agricultural Education. Orlando married Rosario in 1967.

Orlando had a passion for watching boxing and volleyball. He enjoyed listening to music, specifically old country songs and catching up with old friends while playing cards and reminiscing about the olden days. You could often find Orlando wearing his beloved Hawaiian shirts and spending time with his grandkids.

He will be most remembered for his sense of humour, loving personality and kind heart. Orlando would refer to everyone as “Iddu Ku” (my love) and will always be remembered as everyone’s “Daddy”, taking care of everyone he meets and treating everyone like family. He was the rock of the family and you could always come to him for guidance and strength.

Besides his loving wife Rosario, Orlando is survived by his three daughters, Madonna Castro, Johanna “Didi” Malabug, and Marie Lynne Tarun of Calgary, Alberta ; one son, Orlando “Bong” Tarun Jr. in Cabagan, Isabela; eight grandchildren, Madel Castro, Carl Castro, Ojoe Malabug, Orlando “Thunder” Tarun III, Ric-Jay Malabug, Orlando “Storm” Tarun IV, Orlando “Rain” Tarun V, and

Kitana Pearson. Orlando is also survived by his one brother, Marciano Tarun, three sisters, Evelyn Parmar, Marie Riley, Josefa Buraga; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Orlando was predeceased by his parents, Maxima and Manuel Tarun, and brother Wilson Tarun.
