Obituary of John Ellis HISCOCK

September 15, 1931 – North Sydney, Nova Scotia January 5, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Hiscock, beloved husband of Edith Colter Hiscock (nee MacDonald), at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary on January 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his family. Jack was born the ninth of twelve children to John and Olive Hiscock in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. A true adventurer, he left Cape Breton in 1951 to join the RCMP in Regina. He enjoyed a long career that took him to many destinations across Canada. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in Yellowknife in 1979. Jack married the love of his life, Edie MacDonald, in Ottawa in 1962. They recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. Besides his loving wife Edie, Jack is survived by his children Patricia (Malcolm), Jennifer, Ron (Carla), Jacqueline (Tim), Carrie (John) and grandchildren Lauren, Andrew, Courtnay, Kellen, Andrea, Mitchell, Rachael, Aidan and Darragh, and by his sisters Kathleen, Olive, Adeline, Etta and Joyce. At Jack’s request, no service will be held. A celebration of Jack’s life will take place in the spring, at a time and venue to be announced.
