Kimberly Johnson-Kowaluk, beloved wife of Jim Kowaluk of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the age of 41 years.

Kimmie was born in Calgary, AB, the loving daughter of Albert and Linda Johnson on April 18, 1979. She married Jim in 2016.

Her smile, infectious love of life and warm caring attitude touched everyone she met. She was a leader, not a follower and would do anything for her friends and family. Kimmie was truly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone.

Kimmie enjoyed her home and loved sitting on the deck or walking down to the lake with her two dogs.

Kimmie loved to travel recently saying that a trip to Hawaii a few years ago was most beautiful and her favourite. A family trip to California last November 2019 with Jayla will be fondly remembered because of all the smiles and care free time. Even though Kimberly loved traveling south, she enjoyed the beauty of Canada more.  She loved going to the mountains, the west coast and the interior of BC.

Kimmie enjoyed going to concerts and loved music: everything from rap, classic rock, country and even Frank Sinatra classics.

Besides her loving husband, Kimmie is survived by her beautiful daughter Jayla Lynn Johnson (16) of Calgary, her father Al Johnson and stepmom Cathy Johnson of Bashaw, AB, sister April Miller, of Calgary, brother Clinton Johnson of Edmonton; nieces, Chalynn Wilson of Calgary and Larrissa Valgarson of Toronto; Kimmie is also survived by Jim’s children, Mark Kowaluk of Calgary and Alicia Kowaluk of Calgary; and her two dogs that she loved, Sugar (7) & Axel (11).

She was predeceased by her mother Linda Johnson (nee Melville) and her brother Jesse.

Due to Covid-19 we have to restrict physical attendance to 10 people at one time. The Funeral home will work with families to ensure you have an opportunity to say “good-bye.” We will also be offering a virtual service via Zoom.
