Obituary of Erik Richard COURONNE

February 11, 1995 – Calgary, Alberta January 3, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Erik, beloved son of Rick Couronne of Calgary, AB, and Renée Cameron, of Okotoks, AB passed away on January 3, 2018 at the age of 22 years. Erik was born in Calgary, but spent the majority of his childhood in Okotoks, showing his talents as a quick learner early in life. Many fun times were had with family and friends. In his younger days he had a passion for sports, such as soccer, basketball, lacrosse and Aikido. Later on his passions turned towards music, specifically rap, and under the name “Erik Strapped”, he gained some underground success. His creativity was apparent in the writing of Rap Lyrics. Erik is survived by his parents Renée Cameron (Ken Singbeil) of Okotoks, AB and Rick Couronne of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his sister Kristen Mann of Victoria, BC, his grandmothers Mary Cameron and Grace Couronne, his uncle Gord Cameron (Donna), aunt Deana Pryde (Collin) and his four cousins; Carson (Katie), Robert (Kendra), Michelle and Ryan. As well as Ken Singbeil’s children Mackayla, Alecs, and Cailin. Erik was predeceased by his grandfather Louis Couronne (Papa). He also lost his grandfather Ken Cameron (Grampie) who was his pal, protector and mentor. Now they are together once again hand in hand. Erik will be deeply missed and forever loved by Mom and Dad.
