December 29, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Jocelyn Wright, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 53 years after a hard, fought fight with cancer.

Jocelyn was born and raised in Calgary where she took all of her primary and high school education. She was known not to back away from a challenge and later in life went to the University of Calgary and received her bachelors of education in 2004.  Jocelyn taught at John Ware Junior High and Louis Riel School.  She also taught advanced mathematics to gifted students. Jocelyn put her whole heart into teaching as she loved what she did and her students loved her also.  One of her highlights each year was taking a group of students to the West Coast on a sailing trip with SALTS.

Jocelyn was a very dedicated and caring friend who went above and beyond the call of duty. She enjoyed a good laugh, outdoor adventures, and different sports.  Jocelyn made friends easily due to her authenticity.

She enjoyed cruising and made her way to the Caribbean a couple of times which was a great adventure for her.

She is survived by a sister, Julie Wright and a brother and sister-in-law Miles and Leanne Wright of Medicine Hat, AB as well as three nephews, Landon, Spencer (Linda), and Blake. She is also survived by special friends who stood by her side until the end, Cindy Miller, Heather Layton, Gail Slen, Sheryl Burrows, Erin Dymond, and many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Allen and Marlene Wright; grandmothers Hilda Wright and Phyllis Hawes.
