Obituary of Alice Roberta DEAN

April 18, 1939 – Carnduff, Saskatchewan December 23, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Alice Roberta, beloved wife of the late Ralph Ernest Dean, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017 surrounded by her family, at McKenzie Towne Long Term Care Facility where she had resided for the past two years, at the age of 78 years. Alice was born April 18, 1939 along with a twin brother (who died at birth) to parents Harry and Mabel Rutledge, in Carnduff SK. Alice was raised on the family homestead and at the young age of fourteen went to work for a family nearby. She lived with them until she got married to the love of her life, Ralph Ernest Dean in 1958. Alice was a proud homemaker, always welcoming visitors with a warm smile, a cup of tea, home baking, or a delicious meal. Alice was a talented seamstress, she knit, crocheted, and loved to do crafts but her priority was always her family. Ralph’s career took them from Carnduff to Smiley, Regina, Edmonton, and finally Calgary. Alice made new friends everywhere they went and yet always stayed connected to their extended family. Alice and Ralph retired to High River and embraced retirement becoming snow birds. They made new friends resulting in camping and travel adventures, games evenings, and Alice joining the High River Craft Guild. They had many great adventures travelling to Alaska, Hawaii, Mainland USA and from coast to coast in Canada. They spent many happy winters in Yuma, AZ enjoying the company of family and friends. Alice is survived by her three children Connie Dean-Milino (John), Marvin (Natalie) and Denna Weston (Lance), her five grandchildren Kyle Milino (Jenny) and Elizabeth Milino (Chris), Carly and Erica Dean , Miranda Rogowski (Darcy) and great-grandson Weston Rogowski. Alice was predeceased by her husband Ralph, grandson Jared Weston, her brother Leonard Rutledge and by a sister Lorraine Grimsen. There will be a private family celebration of Alice’s life.
