Obituary of Twyla J. BEAMER (nee Herman)

1941-2021

Twyla Beamer, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, in Calgary, Alberta.

Twyla was born August 27, 1941 in Bassano, AB to Lorane A. and Lillian L. Herman. She was raised on their farm near Cluny, AB. Twyla and her mother moved to Calgary in 1956 when her father died. She graduated from Western Canada High School in 1959 and attended business school. She worked for several oil and gas companies in Calgary. Twyla married Bruce Beamer in July of 1971. In her youth, Twyla loved to ski and play tennis. She also loved to travel, and later when they retired, Twyla and Bruce took several cruises to different parts of the world. She was an active member of Highwood Lutheran Church and volunteered her time with many women’s faith groups. Twyla will also be remembered for her needlepoint and sewing talents, her thoughtfulness in always remembering to send a birthday message to her family and friends, and her love of the Christmas season.

Twyla is survived by her husband Bruce, daughters, Carolyn (Jason) Olson and Kathryn Beamer; brother-in-law William (Sandra) Beamer, aunt Eileen Zelt, as well as a niece, nephew, and numerous cousins.
