Obituary of Johanna Frederika COERS

January 7, 1923 – The Hague, Holland December 21, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Johanna, beloved wife of the late Gerard Marius Coers, mother, mother-in-law, Oma and Nana of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Gerry and Johanna immigrated to Canada in 1974 and lived on Salt Spring Island until their retirement in 1986. Johanna (Fre) always lived her life to the fullest. She had many hobbies; she sang in the opera choir, played handball, was a ballet dancer, ceramics, knitting, sewing, among many more which are too numerous to mention. She had a very successful dress-making business and owned a little gift shop on Salt Spring Island. Johanna is survived by her daughter Elisabeth, son-in-law Peter, two grandchildren, Gerry and Peter, two great-grandchildren; Dyllan and Jennifer and her great-great-grandbaby Isabella and numerous nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.
