Obituary of Lorna Claire HOPKIN

November 2, 1930 – Regina, Saskatchewan December 17, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Lorna Claire Hopkin beloved wife of Ed Hopkin of Calgary, passed away at Revera L.T.C. McKenzie Towne on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Lorna was born to the late Lorne and Edna Dowswell in Regina, SK on November 2, 1930. Lorna met Ed in 1947 at Central High School in Regina and they were married in 1953 after both graduated from the University of Saskatchewan. Ed’s career took them to Calgary, Edmonton, Houston and Halifax. Lorna enjoyed many hobbies including stamp collecting, model ship building, growing African violets, designing/creating teddy bears and sitting on the beach in Barbados. Besides her loving husband, Ed Hopkin, Lorna is survived by her children, David (Leslie), Barbara and Douglas (Heather); grandchildren, Thomas (Erin), Ian and Sarah; and great-grandson James. She was predeceased by her parents and by Sister Joan. A family get-together and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Revera L.T.C. for the kind care they provided Lorna over the last seven months as she coped with health issues of Alzheimer’s.
