Obituary of Hugh (Bud) Clinton STEPHENSON

January 23, 1927 - Souris, Manitoba
January 17, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

As a man of few words, a strong yet quiet and gentle man, a brilliant listener and observer, my Dad did not want a detailed passage. He worked hard in the oil & gas industry during his entire career, retiring at the age of 57. He enjoyed a long and enjoyable retirement with Dawn. He lived at home independently until five weeks before his passing, at the age of 93 years, where a small fall at home sealed his fate.

Bud was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, Dawn, February 2016. They were married for 63 years at the time of Dawn’s passing. He is survived by his daughter, Marvyl, and his grandchildren, Cherelle Stephenson and Cody Allen, all of Calgary.

We would like to recognize Dad’s neighbors for all their kindness and assistance over the years. They are angels and heroes and we are forever grateful.

Special thanks to all those that worked hard for his rehabilitation and recovery at Carewest Glenmore Park. Unfortunately Bud tested positive for Covid two days before his homecoming and passed away two weeks later due to complications. He battled like a warrior until his last breath. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aides that fought alongside him and compassionately cared for Dad on Unit 93, Rockyview Hospital.
