Obituary of Bruce Claude NESBITT

NESBITT, Bruce Claude
December 10, 1957 – Ottawa, Ontario
January 14, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Bruce Claude Nesbitt, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the age of 63 years.

Bruce was born December 10, 1957, in Ottawa and later moved to Alberta. He met Eloise in 2009. Little did he know, he had joined a family of thirteen siblings. As crazy as it could be at times, Bruce loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews learn and grow. He would notice any little accomplishment they made and was sure to announce it to everyone around. You could always find him laughing, joking, or telling stories. Bruce especially enjoyed sharing stories of his son Brady. He loved gathering around the campfire and hearing other people’s stories as well. He would listen so intently.

Bruce worked in IT doing graphic designs but always dreamed of being a firefighter. Unfortunately, he had a stroke in 2011 which made it difficult for him to work. Despite being on disability, Bruce refused to slow down. You could find him camping, traveling, visiting with family, playing World of Warcraft, watching Seinfeld, or just enjoying a cold one. Bruce loved music and drumming and was always singing and dancing. He really enjoyed making others happy. Bruce was also a peacemaker and very intense with his emotions. He was not afraid to cry. Bruce had a deep eternal love for his family and a heart of gold.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory, his son Brady Nesbitt, brother Robert Nesbitt, partner of eleven years Eloise Hudson, David, and Kathleen Hudson; Allison Williams and her sons, Patrick, James and Ian; Melissa (Mike) Hay and her son Ethan; Sharlene Cardinal and her daughter Gabrielle; Elsa (Delainy) Cardinal and her children, Alexis, Dylan, Tristan, Jared, and Ava; Emily Hudson and her children, Aurora and Maddox; David (Jenny) Hudson and his children, Keanna, Kaylie, Aeriana, and Zachary; Erin Hudson, Ellen Hudson, Eileen Hudson and her daughter Violet; Samuel Hudson, and Esther Hudson and her son Anthony. He was predeceased by his mother Joan Agnes Kearney, his father Allen Nesbitt, Devin Hudson, Elisa Hudson, and Damon Cardinal.

Bruce will be greatly missed but the memories and stories will never be forgotten. In the words of Bruce, “ATB! All the best now!”

Due to COVID restrictions, a small private family gathering will be held and recorded. This will be available to view at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions toward funeral costs would be greatly appreciated.
