Obituary of Robert George PARKER

January 22, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Bob Parker, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Parker (nee Wilcox) of Calgary, AB, passed away on January 22, 2021 at the age of 83 years old. 

Bob was born in Islay, Alberta on July 16, 1937. After graduating in 1956, Bob completed a two-year certification at the School of Agriculture in Vermillion, Alberta in 1958. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Education in 1972 and in 1979 completed his Masters of Education at U of A. He taught with the CBE for 16 years. After retirement, he worked in construction for another 15 years. In his later years he worked in his shop on projects for his beloved children and many others.

Bob was a member of the Stampede City Chorus for 36 years.  He sang in the FAC choir and loved volunteering at the churches he attended. You would often see him with a big smile and strong handshake, greeting people at the door. Bob enjoyed volunteering his time at Samaritan’s Purse supervising the packing of shoe boxes.

Bob will be most remembered for his commitment to the Lord and serving at his church. His smile, friendliness and love for people were well known.

Besides his loving wife, Pat, Bob is survived by his daughter Julie (Russ), his son Patrick (Melanie); his stepsons Kevin (Santina), Sean (Rachelle), ten grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Bob is also survived by his brother Richard and his sister Irene; as well as extended family and numerous friends.
