Obituary of Dorothy Mae COOK

January 23, 2021 – Okotoks, Alberta

Dorothy Mae Cook (nee Tippitt) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

Dorothy was a proud native Calgarian whose heart belonged to the prairies.  She was born on December 16, 1933 at the Calgary General Hospital. She moved with her family to Edmonton in 1961 where she resided until returning to Calgary in 2017.

Dorothy graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1975 and enjoyed an extensive career in the oil and gas industry before retiring in 1992.  She spent her retirement years happily - travelling, volunteering and pursuing her many personal passions.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, Patricia (Bruce), Douglas, Dianne (Greg), and Janice (Ron). She leaves behind six grandchildren, Scott (Kathryn), Kahlie, Christine (Jarvys), Dylan, Samarah and Elizabeth.  She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and May; and brothers, Ernest and Frank.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday. July 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Okotoks Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
