Obituary of Garry George EVANS

February 5, 1947 – Winnipeg, Manitoba
January 25, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Garry George Evans, beloved husband of Patricia Evans, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 73 years.

Garry was born in Winnipeg, MB and spent his career at CP Rail in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Calgary. After retirement he worked at Valley Ridge Golf Course.  

Garry enjoyed collecting antiques, rafting and golfing. He was fond of exploring his surroundings, especially Hawaii in his retirement years, and combined this with his love of photography, taking many pictures of the scenes around him. Garry was very good at building things and has built many a shed and refinished basements. He also taught himself how to do stained glass and gifted many family members with beautiful lamps, shades, and windows.

Garry will be most remembered for his dry humour, his many funny sayings and mostly his kind, gentle, and easygoing personality. 

Garry is survived by his loving wife Pat, daughter Kristen Howe (Blake Howe), son Craig Jeffery Evans (Katy Evans), four grandchildren, Dusty Howe, Harper, Jack & Henry Evans, brother Murray Evans (Lei Anne Sharratt), brother-in-law Des Bulger (Sheila Bulger), niece Danielle Thompson, Helene Bulger and the whole Bulger clan in Winnipeg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Garry was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Violet Evans, brother Cory Evans, and sister Dianne Pawlik.

A Funeral Service will be held for 20 attendees, on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. All others are invited to join Mr. Evans’ service streamed live below on the day of the service. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
