Janice WARNER (nee Ossinger)

Obituary of Janice Mabel WARNER (nee Ossinger)

November 26, 1956 - Halifax, Nova Scotia

January 28, 2021 - Calgary Alberta

Janice Warner passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 64 years after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Halifax, NS she was the daughter of late Ernest and Regina Ossinger (nee Smith).

Janice loved to quilt, knit and really do too many crafts to name. She was an avid reader of romance novels, often getting lost in a good book. If she wasn’t reading you could always find her watching crime or game shows on TV, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, where she amazed us that she always knew the answer. She loved to go to Bingo when her mother was still with her and was always up for playing a game of cards with her dearest loved ones.

Her career was everything to her besides her husband, children, granddaughter, family and beloved pet and companion Buddy.

Janice was an amazing person who was loved and admired by all who met her. She took everyone under her wing, never judged and told you exactly what you needed to hear. She will be sadly missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to cross her path.

Janice will be forever known by her infectious smile, laugh, love for her family, friends and life.

Janice is survived by her husband of 48 years Kevin; son Jason (Paula); daughter April (Gary); and her precious granddaughter Avery who gave her the extra will to fight for the past two years (her angel, sweet pea and reason for life). She is also survived by brothers, Ernest (Irene), Calvin (Sue), Michael (Debbie), Alan (Judy); her beloved sister Sharon (Steve); many special nephews, nieces and a large extended and close family. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Regina Ossinger (nee Smith) who were waiting for her with open arms at the gates of Heaven.

The family would like to thank Agapé Hospice for keeping her comfortable in her final days. The entire Tom Baker Cancer team who were a tremendous help during Janice’s battle and a special thank you to Dr. Gloria Roldan Urgoiti who started the journey with her 4 years ago and made her feel at ease with just your voice and presence always calling Janice “your lovely lady”.

If our love was enough to save you, you would have lived forever.

In the words of Janice and how she felt about her journey... “where there is life, there is hope” and your life will live on with us.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Janice’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Janice’s memory to The Tom Baker Cancer Centre, The Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army Agapé Hospice.
