Condolences
Walter was one of my favorite companions at North Toronto Collegiate Institute. He would always add sparkle to every day. My deepest condolences to Nancy and the family.
My respects to Nancy, Jimmie and Carolyn. Fond memories of Walter.
Walter was responsible for helping me land my first job in the securities industry at Midland-Osler Securities. That was 52 years ago, and I have enjoyed every year since then. A great loss to me when he and Nancy moved to Calgary.
My thoughts and best wished to Nancy and Jimmy (“Good thinking, Walt”).
I am sorry to hear of Walters passing. I worked with Walter in the early years of Wood Gundy in Calgary and Walter was a major influence on my development in the business world. The stories of our office are legend and I reflect on them with very fond memories.
We offer our deepest sympathy’s to Nancey and the Hall family.
Walter was the best life-long friend anyone could have. We will miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and the family. Pat and Fred Bourgase
Walt gave me my first job in the ” Securities Industry”. He was a mentor , educator , and tough love boss. A lot of great and interesting people went thru Walt on their way to successful careers throughout their lives. I’m glad to have known Walter and wish Nancy, Carrie and Jim my deep sympathies . I am so sorry to hear that Walter is gone. I have a lot of fantastic memories of him. Among them his encouragement to read has always stuck with me. I have been thinking about that a lot recently as I have been teaching and inspiring my 3 & 6 yr olds nightly about what a great super power knowledge is.
I often tell the story of sitting at the Hall kitchen in Bonavista, being introduced to new market products such as Teddy Ruxpin and then unwrapping some new game called “Trivial Pursuit”. We all sat down to try it for the first time. When it was Walter’s turn he went around the whole board answering every single question until he had all his pies, went to the middle and won the game in one turn! We all put the game away and thought it must be a dud not having a clue at what an incredible accomplishment that was never mind on his first turn ever!
Walter was a brilliant man and I feel blessed to have known him, to be inspired by him and for the
friendship i have had with his family especially Jim. Wish I lived closer to offer my support.
Take care Halls!
