Obituary of Kurukulasuriya Joseph Fabian Paul FERNANDO

Kurukulasuriya Joseph Fabian Paul Fernando, former Mathematics and Physics teacher at St. Mary’s College, Negombo, Sri Lanka, and Mathematics and athletic coach with the Calgary Board of Education, passed away peacefully at home in Calgary, Alberta, to the loving embrace of Jesus our Saviour.

Beloved husband of Sylvia (nee Rosa, retired teacher of Croos Convent, Negombo, and kindergarten and music teacher at Christopher Robin Private School, Calgary), son of late Mr. K. M. Joseph N. E. Fernando and Mrs. Josephine Fernando of Negombo, brother of late Leonard, Kenny, Hilda, Jestus, Francisca, Stella; and brother of Bertila, loving father of Paula Srianthi and John Ronjen, grandfather of Joseph, Marian, Maria, John Nishan, Christine; and great-grandfather of Jacinta Fernando and Adrian Fernando-Musial.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) Monday, February 15, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Covid-19 restrictions will be in effect.

A Private Funeral Vigil will be held on Wednesday, February 17 and a Private Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Condolences, memories and photos can be shared and viewed here.
