Obituary of Michael TURNBULL

Michael “Keith” Turnbull, beloved husband of Marion Turnbull (nee Orr), passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

Keith was born in Ruddell, SK, on December 21, 1930 to William Stevenson Turnbull and Ivey Jane (nee Roche). He moved with his mother and sisters to Saskatoon, SK, when his father joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941.

After completing school, he joined the engineering department of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1949, and went on to join the Royal Canadian Navy in 1952. He served on three ships: Unicorn, Cornwallis, and Naden. He was also a trainer of cadets and was honorably discharged in 1953. Following his discharge from the Navy, he began his lifelong career as a landman, and in 1963 he and Marion were married.

He retired from Husky and moved to Creston, BC, and later to Claresholm, AB. Keith enjoyed golf, reading, curling, and driving. His most memorable vacations were to Hawaii in his 40s, and Scotland in 1976. Keith was a descendant of Robertus de Turnbulyes, who saved the king, Robert the Bruce.

Keith is survived by his loving wife Marion, and sister Dorothy Cooke.  He was predeceased by his mother, father, and three sisters, Adelaide, Arlene, and Betty.
