Obituary of Angele McIlVEEN

Angèle McIlveen, beloved wife of Dave McIlveen, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the age of 74 years.

 

Angèle was born in Saigon, Vietnam, on August 28, 1946. She moved to Paris at an early age with her family. Angèle had a large family growing up, she always took care of and loved her many siblings; Angelo, Ange, Angeli, Angeline, and Angelina. Angèle graduated from Sorbonne University in Paris with a degree in Education. She immigrated to Canada to work as a teacher, this is where she met David and they married in Saskatoon, in 1977. She taught for the Catholic School Board in Canada for over forty years. Angèle was loved by her students and colleagues throughout her teaching career. Angèle accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her two children, Tom and Jeanne-Mai, as well as her grandchild Oscar. Some of her passions included being outdoors, travelling, and physical fitness. She will be most remembered for her selflessness, dedication to family, and beautiful smile.

 

Besides her loving husband, Angéle is survived by her son Tom McIlveen, daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne-Mai and Michael Venhuis; and grandchild Oscar Venhuis.

 

A Private Funeral Service will be held, on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos can be shared and viewed here.
