Obituary of Violet Edna BOLIN

January 17, 1928 – Provost, Alberta

Edna Bolin of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the age of 93 years.

Edna was born in Provost, AB on January 17, 1928. She was the youngest of five children and attended the one-room Ferry Hill School with her siblings. After school, she helped with the farm chores and played with her cats.

Edna moved to Calgary in 1944 when she was sixteen. She met Vincent and they were married in June of 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Banff. During the next nine years, they had three daughters and lived in the northwest community of Rosedale for many years.

Edna was passionate about art and theatre and enjoyed visiting the Glenbow Museum and attending Theatre Calgary, Vertigo, Lunchbox Theatre and the Alberta Ballet productions. She loved spending time with her family as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Edna is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Steve) of Calgary, Maureen (Brian) of Calgary, and Lori (Al) of Edmonton; five grandchildren, Diana (Dave) of Calgary, Mark (Meghan) of Calgary, Mike (Becky) of Calgary, Lindsay (Glen) of Calgary and Matt of Edmonton; and nine great-grandchildren, Lucas, Leah, Katelyn, Joshua, Katherine, Carter, Jayda, Makayla and Benjamin. Edna is also survived by her sister Daisy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Edna was predeceased by her husband Vincent, her brother Jack, sisters, Elsie and Nellie; as well as her mother and father, Daisy and Dudley Morrell.
