Obituary of John Alexander MACEACHEN

May 11, 1932 – Red Deer, Alberta

February 23, 2021– Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Alexander MacEachen, beloved husband of Germaine Rose MacEachen (nee Holland) of Calgary at the age of 88 years.

John was born on May 11, 1932, and at the beginning of his career he started to work at the Calgary Herald in the printing department. He knew right away that was the path for his career and opened Style Craft Printing which is still operated by his sons.

He met Germaine and they were married in 1958 and had four children soon after.

John continued to work at Style Craft Printing until he had a stroke in August 2015. He was a wonderful man and an amazing father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing at Redwood Meadows Golf and Country Club. He wintered in Thousand Palms, California spending time with lifelong friends.

Besides his loving wife, Germaine, John was the loving father of Celine (Brad) Gibbs, Don MacEachen, and Rob MacEachen, all of Calgary; daughter-in-law Claire Mitchell MacEachen of Kelowna, BC. He will also be dearly missed by his ten grandchildren, Dylan Gibbs, Rachelle, Nikki, Austin, Jenna, Josh, Alexandra, Johanna, Matthew, Andrew MacEachen; and three great-grandchildren, Toby and Marley Bird, and Blake Frame.  He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Marion Crosley of Whiterock, BC.

He was predeceased by his son Jeffery MacEachen in 2015.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with a family graveside to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on John MacEachen’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
