Condolences
I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. We lived a few blocks from the Pozzo house in the 60's and saw Jackie, Gary and Dale quite regularly either at school or playing sports. While we got on Gary's nerves every so often he was always a good guy about it and it was nice to know Gary was on your side. God bless!
Darrell "Pinky" Gibson
When Gary played for the Gulls, I was the Gulls stick-boy. He was an awesome guy, always taking a few minutes to chat.
On the ice, he didn't backdown from anyone.
I remember one night three Portland Buckaroos came after him at the same time, he just started throwing punches at the biggest one and then he laughed about it after the game.
I worked in hockey for 4 years. I met a lot of famous players, but Gary was always one of the cool guys I have always remembered.

Jim & Helma Davis and family.
Sending all of you love and comfort during this challenging time. Gary, Maralee and the boys were like a second family. Sharing moments on the culdasac, New Year's eve fondue and forts, and the fire department that gave all of us a brotherhood that had our backs. We are so sad that we are unable to celebrate Gary's life with you in person. Know that the McRae family is here for you.
Love Stacey

To the Pozzo Family--- I worked with Gary off and on, for many years, in different firehalls. I'll always remember his humor at the funny things in life, and his insight in the serious things. We shared many meals and many laughs. God Bless you Gary.
To the Pozzo Boys & family, We were so saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. Please know our thoughts are with you at such a difficult time as we remember both your parents fondly. They were such a lovely couple who clearly loved their family and were such great role models for us in our early years in the Fire Department. We hope it is a small comfort to know their souls are now together once again. Sincerely, Wayne & Lynn McQueen (DeIure)
Very saddened to hear of Gary’s passing I lived in Mosaic Mirage close to Gary, my dog Chewy and I would always stop and have a chat with Gary & Jersey on our walks. He was a wonderful man. He definitely made you feel like you were long time friends. My heart goes out to Gary’s family.
RIP my friend.
Mr. Pozzo was my first hockey coach and he taught me at a very young age what it meant to compete and to play with passion. He was a true leader for so many young hockey players in Haysboro and south Calgary. I had a healthy respect for him, I looked up to him and I wanted to be like him one day. Everything a coach and mentor is supposed to be. Kevin, Mike & Kent it was great growing up with you guys and I just want you to know how much your dad meant to me, my family and the community. We are sad to hear of his passing.

Some good memories I have of Gary would be playing senior hockey against him 1977 / 1978. The fans always wanted us to fight because we had the reputations but we never did out of mutual respect.
I can still recall the time he drove right into my garage on a Harley with Maralee on the back and scared the hell out of me.
He brought his sons to my house for a family BBQ. It was a pleasure to know him and he will be greatly missed.
Richie Pozzo
Wishing all of you comfort and peace in the days ahead. My thoughts are with you.
