Obituary of Gary (Sammy) Lee POZZO

After celebrating a wonderful life, Gary passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 71 years. 

Gary is survived by his adored children Kevin and granddaughter Theran Lee and grandson Austin James;  Michael and grandson Maxwell Scott, Kent and wife Kristen, two brothers Jack (Robin) and Dale (Trish) as well as many nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his loving wife Maralee and his sister Pam.

Gary retired in 2009 from his career with the Calgary Fire Department as a thirty year Captain. He was passionate about hockey and golf.  Gary was able to better many careers through coaching hockey from Pee Wee all the way to Junior A. Love to you all. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

A Private Funeral Service will be held, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join Mr. Pozzo’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
