Obituary of Ernest PILKINGTON

November 3, 1927 – Blackburn, England
April 6, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Ernest Pilkington beloved father and grandfather passed away in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 93 years. We are deeply saddened with the passing of our dad, grandfather, great grandfather.

Ernest was born in Blackburn, England, on November 3, 1927. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 with his wife and three daughters to give them a better life. He built a home in Bowness where he resided until 2016.  He was a master craftsman who could build anything from a picture, and could usually be found out in his garage working on a new item of furniture that he was building. He had a great sense of humor, always smiling, and loved watching his movies.

Ernest’s favourite saying was, “For every minute you are angry, you miss 60 seconds of happiness.”

He will be sadly missed by daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Ron Huhn, Deb and Jeff Hancock; grandsons, Chris (Josie) Cameron, Rick Jr., Kyle, and Cassandra; six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by very special niece, Lynne Isherwood (Roger), and his sister-in-law Christine Turner (Alan). Ernest was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Margaret, in 2012, daughter Judith in 1967, and grandson Robert in 1997.

As per Ernest’s wishes no formal services will take place.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Ernest’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
