Condolences
Dear Shirley
dear children and families
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Joe, your partner, your father.
Whenever Joe was in Switzerland, we have known him as a kind and witty person.
It is with this fondness that we will keep him in our memories.
With Joe leaving us, we're losing yet another dear relative.
The Andreae-family keeps growing lonelier.
We wish you much strength in this period of mourning.
In deep sorrow

Our heartfelt sympathy to the whole family of Joe. It came unexpected, I was actually hoping to visit him soon. Being from Switzerland myself we met trough the Swiss club and as beekeepers.I bought some of my first equipment here in Canada from him and he helped me with extraction of the honey at the beginning. He was very famous for big beehives and his big garden. Rest In Peace Jo Andreae Thomas Schweizer and Jennifer Rorke
Fritz and Helga Wagner,
Our heartfelt sympathy to the whole family of Joe. It came as a big surprise . I knew him for some 40 years plus as a happy and smart person. A passionate gardener , with a real green thumb . He was very famous for his flowers especially Gladiolus .
A beekeeper with his heart and soul and he must have produced and sold tonnes of delicious honey , one of the best.
He loved the Swiss traditions and supported enjoyed our Swiss yodel concerts . Joe we will keep you in our hearts forever and it was a joy being a friend so we will miss you.
Love Fritz and Helga and family
Dear David, Loren, Roxanne and Shirley,
It is with deep sorrow we learn of Joe’s passing. Despite the distance we felt very connected. The reunions with Joe were always very special to us, be it in Canada or during one of his visits in Switzerland. We are grateful, we were able to accompany Joe to Commugny two years ago to meet his childhood friends.
Spending a couple of days with Joe over 20 years ago, looking after the bees, having a go at his garden and him teaching us how to eat asparagus without cutlery are cherished memories that come to mind when thinking of Uncle Joe. But most of all he was a very generous friend and receiving one of his big hugs was a wonderful feeling.
Uncle Joe, you will be greatly missed and forever fondly remembered!
Our heart goes out to our family and Shirley in Canada, as well as Joe’s sisters.
Heartfelt sympathies,
Katrin, Rolf, Julia and Lukas of the Rüegg-Ginsig Family
Thank you “Uncle Joe” for all of the honey over the years, the hockey games, and for being such a good friend to our family for decades.
Warmest Regards,
Alicia Hope-Ross, daughter of Jim
Dear family, dear Shirley,
I have fond memories of Joe from way back when we both served on the board of the Swiss Club. Since then I always enjoyed meeting Joe again and having a few words in French with him. His smile lightened up a room and he was always a pleasure to see him again. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones; he will be missed. Vreny Haas

My wife Yvonne and I met Joe several years ago through Yvonne's cousin and his special friend Shirley Siddon.
We eventually became good friends and every so often got together for a time of friendship.
Joe was a very jovial and kind man with a great smile and handshake whenever we got together.
He will certainly be missed by his family and friends.
Our condolences are passed onto to his family and those near to him.
Rest in Peace my friend...
Ted Hesch
Condolences to Joe's family . Having worked with Joe and his son David on Calgary Transit for many years. Joe was on the interview team when I was promoted to Relief Bus Radio controller. Many good memories throughout the years and the purchase of a bucket of honey on occasion. Larry Stowards
Tommy Aberdeen.
It was through Joe's suggestion in a chance meeting way back in '77 that led me to join Calgary Transit. My condolences Dave and the rest of the family. He was one of the best.
Joe had such a sense of humour. Joe and I went into hat business selling all color of hats with the City Of Calgary logo. Sold hats to City Employees. Remember when Joe came to see me when I was in the hospital with a beautiful bouquet of flowers which made my day. Going to miss your heart warming smile and hugs. RIP Joe!
Having met Joe many years ago when he was dating Patricia Korolchuk, we have been blessed by many years of friendship both as a relative and as a fellow Dispatcher at Calgary Transit.
Having helped him in his early days as a beekeeper and a raiser of specialty rabbits, his patience and skills were obvious.
As a loyal and trustworthy friend and a gentlemen he will be deeply missed by all.
Rest in Peace Joe, you have earned it.
