Obituary of Eunice Muriel ALBERTSON (nee Myhre)

July 9, 1928 – Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan

April 29, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Eunice Albertson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the age of 92 years.

Eunice was born in Stewart Valley, SK, on July 9, 1928. She lived in many small towns in Saskatchewan, including Paswiegan and Tessier, before moving to Calgary in 1960. Eunice made many friends and happy memories while living in Strathmore, Calgary, and Airdrie. She will be missed greatly by her friend Stella Mackenzie. Eunice was able to make connections with people of different generations and faiths. She treasured her family and loved visiting with her sisters. Eunice was married to Arnold Albertson in 1979. She worked as a cashier for many years at Woodwards in Calgary. In her spare time and when she retired, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, travelling to visit with family, and attending live theater in Rosebud Alberta.

Eunice is survived by her eight children, Brenda (Doug) Birch of Airdrie, AB, Maureen (Allan) Rogers of West Bank, BC, Beverly (George) Costain of Hanna, AB, Barry (DeNae) Wilson of Calgary, AB, Scott (Alice) Wilson of Chilliwack, BC, Debbie (Steve) Stevens of Airdrie, AB, Carol Albertson of Calgary, AB, and Kevin Albertson of Calgary, AB; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Eunice is also survived by her sisters, Eileen Prodaehl and Dorothy Miller, both of Saskatoon, SK; sisters-in-law, Myrna (Lorne) Howell of St. Albert, AB, and Val Pollock of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eunice was predeceased by her husband Arnold Albertson, parents, Hans and Minnie Myhre; brothers, Howard Myhre, Eugene Myhre, and Floyd Myhre; sister Lillian Vellacott, sisters-in-law, Eileen Myhre and Shirley Myhre; and her first husband Tom Wilson.

A Private Funeral Service will be held, on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join Mrs. Albertson’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
