Obituary of Aline WEATHERBEE (nee Boucher)

June 1, 1942– Biencourt, Québec

May 3, 2021– Calgary, Alberta

Aline Weatherbee, loving mother of the Weatherbee family and daughter of the Boucher family, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

Aline was born in Biencourt, Québec on June 1, 1942. She was one of thirteen children born to parents Aristide Boucher and Alma Lévesque (Boucher).

In 1965, Aline met her great love and father of her children and future children, James (Jim) Arthur Weatherbee in Wawa, Ontario. At that time, she had Michael and Brigitte from a previous marriage, and Jim fell in love with them and her. Eventually they were married and had two more daughters, Nancy and Jennifer.

Jim had wanderlust and would love to pack up every few years and move somewhere new, leading them to see much of Canada from coast to coast. They remained together until May 1991, when Jim passed away in Salmon Arm, BC. Aline then moved to Calgary AB to be closer to her children.

On March 30, 1998, Aline received the life saving gift of a heart transplant, and that, along with her strength, determination and the desire to be there for her family, allowed her to remain with them for another twenty-three years.  In 2010, Aline met her second love, Malcolm McLaren. They met while living in the same apartment building in Calgary. They used to both go down to the common TV room to watch Calgary Flames games, and there was a lot of flirting going on between first puck drop and last. They remained together until Aline's passing.

Aline is survived by her children, Denis (Cécile),  Michael (Joan), Brigitte (John), Nancy and Jennifer; her grandchildren, Matthew, James, Karen, Jenn, Julie, Sheldon, Jayde, Brooklyn, Bryn, Claire and Wyatt,  and her great grandchildren, Christopher, Willow, Wesley, Kayla, Tiffanie, Kason, Ryder and Felix.

Aline is also survived by her siblings, Rino (Henriette), Alain, Gilberte, Ghyslaine (Alphonse), Etiennette, Janet (Norman) and many nieces and nephews!

Aline loved her children beyond measure and would do anything for them. She adored her grandchildren and had an active role in their lives. She was an amazingly strong woman who never gave up and she will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Aline est née à Biencourt, Québec, le 1er juin 1942.  Elle était l’un des 13 enfants nés d’Aristide Boucher et Alma Lévesque (Boucher).

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants; Denis (Cécile) Michael (Joan), Brigitte (John), Nancy et Jennifer.  Ses petits-enfants; Matthew, James, Karen, Jenn, Julie, Sheldon, Jayde, Brooklyn, Bryn, Claire and Wyatt.  Ses arrières-petits-enfants; Christopher, Willow, Wesley, Kayla, Tiffanie, Kason, Ryder and Felix.  Ses frères et soeurs; Rino (Henriette), Alain, Gilberte, Ghyslaine (Alphonse), Étiennette, Janet (Norman) et plusieurs nièces et neveux!

En 1965, Aline a rencontré son grand amour, le père de ses enfants et futurs enfants, James (Jim) Arthur Weatherbee à Wawa, Ontario. À ce moment-là, elle avait Michel et Brigitte d’un précèdent mariage et Jim est tombé amoureux d’eux et finalement ils se sont mariés et ont eu deux autres filles, Nancy et Jennifer.

Jim avait toujours envie de voyager, il adorait faire ses valises et déménager dans un nouvel endroit.  Ils ont fini par voir pratiquement tout le Canada d’un océan à l’autre.  Ils sont restés ensemble jusqu’en mai 1991, date à laquelle Jim est décédé à Salmon Arm, en Colombie-Britannique.  Aline a ensuite déménagé à Calgary pour se rapprocher de ses enfants.

Le 30 mars 1998, Aline a reçu le plus beau cadeau, une transplantation cardiaque et cela, avec sa force, sa détermination et le désir d’être là pour sa famille, lui ont permis de rester avec eux pendant 23 ans. En 2010, Aline rencontre son deuxième amour, Malcolm McLaren. Ils se sont rencontrés alors qu’ils vivaient dans le même immeuble à Calgary. Ils se rencontraient dans la salle commune pour regarder les parties de hockey des Flames de Calgary. Ils sont restés ensemble jusqu’au décès d’Aline.

Aline aimait ses enfants au-delà de toute mesure et aurait fait tout pour eux. Elle adorait ses petits-enfants et avait un rôle actif dans leur vie. C’était une femme incroyablement forte qui n’a jamais abandonné et sera manqué par sa famille et ses amis.
