Obituary of Riley Allan WALZ

Riley Walz, also known as McNight, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 29 years.

 

Riley was born in Calgary, AB, on October 12, 1991. He moved to Red Deer in 2008 and was employed as a roofer and industrial pipe insulator. Riley then moved to Airdrie in 2018, where he was employed as a Level One Operator at Condillo Foods. Riley had a loving relationship with his partner Samantha Ginter and her son Brody (11 years old). Samantha and Riley were blessed with a second child, Luka in 2019. Riley (McNight) had a passion for making music. He was an exceptional lyricist and a member of the group Green Children, with his two best friends Devon (Mentality) and Adam (Invectrum). Riley’s favourite music artist was Aesop Rock, but he also thoroughly enjoyed Run the Jewels, Jam Baxter, Dirty Dike and Tech N9ne. He will be most remembered for his strength, gentle heart, courage, clever mind, skillful word crafting and sharp tongue.

 

Riley is survived by his mom Kendra Walz-Parker(Mike) of Red Deer, his dad Rob Tinant of Red Deer, his grandmother Myrl Eddy of Calgary, his sister Haley Walz of Calgary, his brother Rob Pratt (Carlie) of Fort MacMurray, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Riley is also survived by his partner Samantha Ginter and her son Brody Bailie, as well as their two-year-old son Luka Conrad Walz of Airdrie.

 

Riley was predeceased by his grandpa Conrad Walz (Kathryn) (2017) of Calgary, and his brother Keith Pratt of Red Deer(2021).
