Marjorie MYERS (nee Brooks)

Obituary of Marjorie Early MYERS (nee Brooks)

December 27, 1926 – Knaresborough, England
May 11, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce, Marjorie Myers, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 11, 2021, at the age of 94 years.

Marjorie’s love for “her Harold”, led her to Canada as a young war bride and together they made a lifetime of memories. They are now together once again.

In honour of her wishes, she remained in her home surrounded by love and care throughout her final journey. Marjorie lived a very fulfilling life and was an incredibly strong, independent, elegant, out-spoken and sweet-loving woman.

She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and neighbours. Marjorie will always be remembered for her compassion, her love of baking and cooking, sewing and knitting, her intense love of wrestling, and her witty “spicy” nature.

“Always my mother, forever my friend, always in my heart, until we meet again”.

In keeping with her wishes, Marjorie has been cremated and there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name can be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed on Marjorie’s announcement at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

Her Journey’s Just Begun

“Don’t think of her as gone away,
her journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one,
Just think of her as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days or years,
Think how she must be wishing,
that we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness,
can really pass away,
And think of her as living,
in the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
and she was loved so very much.”

In living memory of Marjorie Myers, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, CALGARY, AB T2E 2V6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
