Obituary of Peter Frank SAVARY

January 9, 1957– Halifax, Nova Scotia

May 5, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Peter Savary passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the age of 64 years, surrounded by family.

Peter was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on January 9, 1957, but resided in Calgary, AB, for the majority of his life. In his earlier years, he spent most of his time in Martins Point Nova Scotia, where he enjoyed being close to the ocean, and spending time with his cousin Gary.  He worked in the steel and concrete industry, and eventually found his true passion when he became a driving instructor at Derek Browns Academy of Driving.

Peter accomplished much through his life, and was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren.

He loved life, lived everyday to the fullest, and thrived on making anyone he came in contact with laugh.  He took great pride in bone carving, wood working, and spending time with his family.  Peter enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was doing yard work, sitting around the fire sipping on a beer, watching hockey, and most recently the game Coin Master. His passion for rock music was indescribable, but Pink Floyd was his all time favorite.  He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs.

Peter was known for his quick wit and endless sense of humor.  He had many sayings that can never be forgotten, such as Ciao baby, bye. Peace out. Outta trouble, outta jail. See ya in court, and See ya the next time I look at ya. A birthday wish from Peter was like no other, he would loudly shout out his own turn on the Beatles song, “They say it’s your Birthday, Happy Birthday to youhooo!”. and his trick to getting you out of bed with his cheery “wake up, wake up you sleepy head” song.

Besides the love of his life Sandy, Peter is survived by his children, Cara, Corina, Randy (Roslyn), Tamara, and Mikyla (Matthew) Brothers, Everett (Fran), John (Marlene), Chris (Kathy), and Brandon. Sisters, Helen, Margaret(Jeremiah), Valerie, Sister-in-law Diana Savary and his five grandchildren Maliyah, Colin, Siraya, Lucas and Jason; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peter was predeceased by parents Spurgeon Percy Savary and Mary Savary (Tarbox); and his brothers, Michael, Vincent, and Stanley.
