Obituary of G. Robin GILL
ENGINEER. ENTREPRENEUR. AVIATOR.
Mr. Gill passed away suddenly on May 15, 2021, at the age of 65 due to injuries from a fall at home. Born in New Westminster, B.C. in 1955, he was the fourth of six sons of Nazar Singh Gill. A graduate of the University of British Columbia in Mechanical Engineering, he was an innovator in the natural gas services industry. After nineteen years with Amoco Petroleum, his ventures in natural gas and gold mining took him from Calgary, Alberta, to live in Manama, Bahrain, London, England, and Almaty, Kazakhstan. His friends span the globe. He also served on the board of the Calgary Flying Club, and piloted his Aztec and Husky airplanes all over Canada and the United States.
Mr. Gill is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Jennifer Mazur Gill, by his sister-in-law Dolores Gill, and by his brothers, John, Joe, Paul and Peter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Nazar Gill, his mother Harbans Kaur Gill (nee Chahal), and by his brother Vic.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, Alberta) on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (402 Government Road, Black Diamond, Alberta) on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. He will be interred at the Highwood Cemetery in High River, Alberta.
