Obituary of Jarvis Carl (Trap) SIMEON

March 15, 1961 – Calgary, Alberta

May 27, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Jarvis Carl Simeon was called home peacefully by the Creator with his children by his side on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 60 years.

Jarvis was a kind, respectful, caring and very humorous cowboy. As a child he engaged in the Stoney Nakoda culture as a fancy bustle dancer and would take part in community events. He lived life to the fullest, he loved to make people laugh, he enjoyed being adventurous and athletic, his good sportsmanship led him to participate in The Original Morley Tomahawks Hockey Team as a centreman where he thrived when he was in his teens. His rodeo career began, as he traveled from Nashville, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas and all through the United States where he won many championships from the mid 1970s to 1998. He was a champion bareback rider, team roper, and steer wrestler. One of his accomplishments was making the finals for bareback for the Indian National Finals Rodeo in 1993. He was a part of the IPRA (International Professional Rodeo Association) and the SRA (Southern Rodeo Association) in North Carolina. But his biggest accomplishment was being a kind-hearted father who offered the world to his children.

He was a hard worker as he served the community as a rancher, water truck driver, school bus driver for Morley and TsuuT’ina. He had a certified training with Hilltop Security and Old College Agriculture/Farming. Dad always cherished watching his grandchildren play hockey, he was their #1 fan: he enjoyed cheering and encouraging from the stands. He loved the time spent with his grandchildren, loving and adoring him back was the reward he loved most.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his common-law partner Lawana; his children, Clint (Felicia), Fawn, Carlene (Tony), Coy,  Jarvelle, Preston, Jesselle, and Jaycene Simeon; his beloved grandchildren, Tyrain/Memphis, (twins) Tony Jr. and Tionne, Shaylie, Tianna, Nataya, Tyrus, Tyren, Ohitika, and Zoey; sister Renetta Simeon; maternal uncle Charlie Mark(Cassie); paternal aunt Alice Kaquitts; his special friends, Juke (Laurel) Wesley and Johnny Smalleyes. He is also survived by numerous  relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews  of the Simeon, Mark, Chiniquay, Wesley, Kaquitts, Baptiste, Snow, Fox, Crawler, Powderface, Dixon, Rider, Bearspaw and Ear Families, and all his rodeo friends. The Family apologize to those we have missed.
