Obituary of Marne Lorne KENNEDY

August 2, 1940 – O’Leary, Prince Edward Island October 16, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta It is with profound sadness that the family of Norm Kennedy announces his peaceful passing on Monday, October 16th, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in O’Leary, P.E.I., Norm began his long career with the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1957. After being transferred to Toronto, he worked at several Ontario locations before moving to Alberta in 1977, living in Lethbridge and Edmonton before settling in Calgary in 1979. Norm served as Scotia Bank VP of Alberta and NWT until his retirement in 1998. After retiring, Norm resumed his love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also renewed his passion in Standardbred racing, owning many horses as well as serving on the boards of The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association and Horse Racing Alberta. Norm and Morinne recently celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary and enjoyed their annual spring holiday with cherished friends in Florida. Norm made regular trips back to PEI to visit with family and friends. Despite his work and many interests, Norm’s main love was for his family, who will miss his warmth, humour, and wisdom. Besides his loving wife, Morinne, Norm is survived by sons, Ken (Jackie) in Regina and Tom (Janice) in Calgary and his beloved grandchildren, Christine (Colen), Harper, Mason, Ian, Sam, and Max. He is also survived by his sisters, Tippi Adams and Paula (David) Platts and extended family in Prince Edward Island and Ontario. Norm was predeceased by his parents Marne and Helen (Jelley) Kennedy. A gathering will be held at Willow Park Golf & Country Club (639 Willow Park Drive, S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
