Obituary of Bruno SIRIANNI

January 16, 1951 – Sambiase, Italy
June 6, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruno Sirianni, beloved husband of Franca Sirianni (nee Megna), of Calgary, AB on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 70 years.

Bruno came to Canada in 1966 with a suitcase and a dream for a better life. He left his home in Sambiase Lamezia Terme Italy at the age of 15 years with his father, mother and siblings. Not long after arriving in Canada, Bruno started working in construction to help support his family. Bruno married the love of his life in April 1971. They settled down in Calgary, AB and raised their four children. Bruno will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, hunting and camping. Family was of most importance to him and his most treasured moments in his life was when he was together with all of them.

Bruno loved his garden and enjoyed having his grandkids help him harvest what was planted. He continued all the Italian traditions from his childhood which included: making wine, tomato sauce, sausages, etc. He truly loved having his kids and grandkids involved and passing on his teachings.

Bruno will be dearly missed by his wife of fifty years Francesca, his children, Lisa (Kevin), Rosa (Darryl), Franco (Cristina), Felicia (Kevin); and his grandchildren that were the loves of his life, Nolan, Ethan, Dylan, Caylee, Nathan, Kara, Anthony, Ryan and Makenzie. Bruno is also survived by his sisters, Felicia (Salvatore), and Pina (Enrico); and his brother Sam (Dora) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Francesco, father Domenico, mother Elisabetta, sister Rosa and niece Rosa.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A Private Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join Mr. Sirianni’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
