Jessie SWINDELLS (nee Watson)

Obituary of Jessie Kathleen SWINDELLS (nee Watson)

October 13, 1932 - May 30, 2021

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 88 years.

Jessie was born in Calgary and attended Crescent Heights High School. Her and Walter hosted many parties and gatherings over the years, such as neighborhood Stampede breakfasts. Jessie was known as an amazing hostess, often hosting theme dinner parties.

Jessie and Walter enjoyed square dancing for many years. They travelled all over the world together and spent many winters in Makaha, Hawaii as well as Apache Junction, Arizona.

Jessie will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She could be relied on for always having cookies in the cookie jar, a fresh pot of coffee, and good conversation. She was incredibly proud of her family, and we were so fortunate to have had her for so long.

Jessie is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years Walter, children, Sandra Downing (Romig), Douglas Swindells, and Gordon (Sheila) Swindells; as well as eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Dale) Watson.

An Open House in Celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Jessie’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Jessie Swindells, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB T2X 3J3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.
