Obituary of David Lawrence BARLASS

August 21, 1952 – Calgary, Alberta September 29, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta It is with profound sorrow that the family of Dave Barlass announces his passing. David died peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 65 years. He was born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on August 21, 1952 to Celia (nee Young) and Dr. Jack Barlass and attended school at the Central Memorial High School and the University of Calgary. David was predeceased by his mother Celia in 1995, his father Jack in 1999 and his brother Jackie in 1990. He is survived by his beloved son Jack, Jack’s mom Lesley and his best buddy Shredder. Dave will be remembered for his love of skiing, fly fishing, vintage cars and spending time at the family cabin in Windermere, BC. Dave’s family would like to thank the staff of Unit 39 of the Peter Lougheed Centre and the Peter Lougheed Centre Palliative Care Team for their tender care during his final days. The family also thanks the ALS Society of Alberta for their advice and support. In accordance with Dave’s wishes a private memorial will be held at a later date. David’s ashes will be interred at Windermere, BC. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
