Obituary of Mary Julia ARISMAN (nee Varga)

September 24, 1935 – Taber, Alberta
July 15, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

On Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the age of 84, Mary Julia Arisman was called home to God. 

Born in Taber, AB, on September 24, 1936, her family moved to Toronto and eventually moved back to Taber where they farmed. In 1958, she met Joseph Arisman at a bowling night in Lethbridge, AB. They married and lived in Lethbridge until 1967 when the family moved to St. Alberta, AB. They resided in St. Albert until 1975 when the family moved to Calgary.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her family, her friends at the Thorncliffe Bingo Hall, and her neighbours in the condo complex where she lived. In her later years, she enjoyed watching golf, the Edmonton Eskimos, and the Edmonton Oilers.

Mary is survived by her three adult children, Monica, Thomas, Patrick (Charlene); three grandchildren, Christopher (Alva), Alexander, and Kayla; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, Joseph, and her brother Joey. 

A Family Graveside Memorial will be held in September 2021 in Taber, AB, where Mary wished to be buried. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

The family would like to thank EMS and the doctors and nurses of Units 43 and 28 at the Peter Lougheed Centre for their excellent care these past weeks.
