Obituary of William Carl GUSCOTT

June 20, 1949 – Kingston, Ontario September 20, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Bill, beloved husband of Marjorie (nee Morrison) of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, after 35+ years battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS), at the age of 68 years. He fought both in life and for country, with courage and stamina. Bill’s love for family and faith was his strength and purpose. He was a passionate outdoorsman, Calgary Flames and Stampeders fan. Bill was a devoted advocate and community volunteer with a love for history. He received both a Canadian Decoration (CD) and a Ribbon for UN Peacekeeping, and was a prominent member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his cheerfulness, optimism and a wonderful sense of humour. Bill is survived by his wife, Marjorie Guscott, his four sons and two daughters-in-law, Sean and Tara of Belleville, ON, Derek and Kiyomi of Vancouver, BC, Bryan of Toronto, ON and Stephan of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Jack and Violet; his six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bob and Lynn Guscott of Waverly, NS, Peter and Sharon Guscott of Red Deer, AB, John and Helena Guscott of Kingston, ON, Patrick Guscott of Calgary, AB, James Guscott of Kingston, ON, Michael Guscott of Kingston, ON and his sister Mary Anne Guscott of Kingston, ON. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Don and Karen Morrison of Olds, AB, Ken and Heidi Morrison of Calgary, AB, many extended family on both sides, and too many friends to name. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Catherine Rose (Kay) Guscott, and William Edward Guscott of Ontario and his family dog Bishi who passed in 2012. As per Bill’s wishes there will be no service.
