June was born in Grande Prairie, AB, on June 7, 1929, to parents Dorothy and Bertram Smith. She graduated from A.L. Fortune Secondary School in Enderby, BC. June married Michael Siak on November 20, 1948. June loved to go camping, and fishing, her most memorable vacation was the camping trip this year, at 92 years old! She also had a passion for the Ocean and a good jigsaw puzzle. June adored her family, and loved that every generation still wanted to come and visit her. Above all family was the most important thing to June. She will be most remembered for being an amazing and loving Mom.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there; I do not sleep

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain,

When you awaken in the mornings hush

I am the swift uplifting rush,

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there; I did not die."

June is survived by her four daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy and Terry Cowell, Wendy Watmough, Holly and Robert Genois, and Gail Siak; daughter-in-law Shawn Siak, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. June was predeceased by her loving husband Michael Siak, parents, Dorothy and Bertram Smith; son Bob Siak, and son-in-law Vern Watmough. She was also predeceased by her sister and two brothers-in-law, Joyce and George Wolfe, and Glen Stickland.
