Obituary of Ken MacDONALD

Ken MacDonald of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 84 years.
Ken grew up in Lethbridge, AB, the fourth child of a family of six. As a young man his working career began in the oilfields of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Following a thirty-nine year career in Red Deer and Calgary, Ken retired from Crane Supply Calgary in 2001.
Ken enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and woodworking. Ken and Nadine travelled on winter get-a-ways frequently.
Left to cherish wonderful memories are Ken’s beloved wife of thirty-eight years, Nadine; children, Michael (Denise) MacDonald, Scott (Candace) McGovern, Tara (Peter) Medhurst; and grandchildren, Sheridan, Aston, Connor and Laurel. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara of Spokane, Florence of California, Alan of California, and Margaret (Paul) of Calgary; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Florence; sister Frances (Roy Wolke of Houston).
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
The family extends thanks to the medical team of unit 73 at the Rockyview General Hospital for their compassionate care.
