Obituary of William John Henry Ringland

William (Bill) John Henry Ringland passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the age of 78 years after a lengthy and tenacious battle with cancer.

Bill used his curiosity and ingenuity to learn many trades throughout his life beginning with the Calgary Police Service and their K9 unit, running his own businesses and finishing his career as a Peace Officer.  Bill personified the qualities of a good friend and neighbour, always willing to help out and expecting nothing in return. Bill had a passion for cars, which led to lifelong friendships and more awards for his cars than can be counted.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Linda, and his two sons William (Shannon) and Jason; granddaughter Ava and a large extended family, including brothers and sisters. Bill was predeceased by his parents.

A private family celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date. His family is very grateful to all the doctors and nursing staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Palliative Care, and the Foothills Country Hospice Society. His family is also thankful to all the family and friends who have been there throughout his journey.
