Obituary of Marge Hanna

Marjorie Hanna of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

Marge was born in Vegreville, AB. She was a member of the Calgary Real Estate Association.  Marge worked as an executive assistant to the president of major oil company (Canadian Occidental). Marge enjoyed golf, tennis, racquetball, bridge, oil pastel artwork, classical and popular piano. She was particularly proud of the birth of her six children, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Marge loved spending time with her family, playing card games, sports, and travel. She went on many amazing vacations including the Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, Caribbean, Alaska, and the Northern Pacific Rim. 

Marge is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hanna and husband Patrick Butler; and five sons; John Hanna, wife Tina Marie Hanna of Tucson, AZ and his children Molly and Liam Flindall Hanna; Bill Hanna and wife Simone Hanna, of Calgary, AB and children Jordan Grose, wife Anna and their children Wyatt, Frank, Gabe and Clara;  Arienne Hanna and her partner Josh Morris of Revelstoke, BC;  Nolan Hanna and partner Lisa Kinjo and their daughter Trig of Calgary, AB; and Ben King of Calgary, AB; Joe Hanna, partner Allie Hanna  of Cleveland, OH and their children John and David Hanna; Peter Hanna, wife Brigitte Harton and their children Elliot and Camille Hanna, of Milton, VT; and Dan Hanna, wife Judy Hanna and their daughters Reagin and Caroline Hanna of Brunswick, GA. She is also survived by her brother Frank Doucette, of Calgary, AB, and sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Clair Cote of Canmore, AB.

Marge was predeceased by her husband Bernie Hanna, parents, Hannah Violet and Andrew Leo Doucette.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.
