Maureen Loretta Freeborn, beloved wife of David Freeborn, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 61 years.
Maureen was born in Calgary, AB on July 8, 1960. She graduated from William Aberhart High School in 1978; and Foothills School of Nursing in 1984.
Maureen married David September 1, 1979, and they celebrated 42 years together.
Maureen accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her years spent as a RN with the pediatric Urology/Nephrology clinic at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Maureen loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, cuddling with her dog Marley, and had a passion for watching hockey (Flames/Flyers), football (Stampeders), and attending concerts.
Maureen’s most memorable vacations were to Hawaii with her husband and children; she was able to return for one last trip in the spring of 2020.
She will be most remembered for her positive and uplifting spirit, her limitless compassion and caring for others, and her infectious laugh and sense of humour.
Besides her loving husband, Maureen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Jeffrey of Calgary, AB; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Anastasia of Calgary, AB; and granddaughter Mia also of Calgary, AB.
Maureen is also survived by her mother and father, Loretta and Art of Calgary, AB, sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Ken of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Brentview Baptist Church (3512 Charleswood Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Freeborn’s service streamed live on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
