Obituary of Dawson Wright

James Dawson Wright (Dawson) passed away on Saturday, September 11 2021 at the age of 87 in Calgary.

He was a loving husband, a caring son and brother, a devoted father and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Toronto on December 30,1933 to Archie and Ethel, the second of four boys. He worked in the construction industry, transitioning to hospitality later in life.  A White Hat recipient, he was a proud Calgarian, Albertan and community member. Dawson loved the outdoors and eagerly pursued the joys of camping, hunting and fishing with his extended family and many friends. He was generous with his time, love and energy and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by Susan, his loving wife of 50 years, his children, Maureen (Rod),  Laurie (Manny), Sandy (Dean), Chris (Takako), Robin (David) and his brother Wayne (Nancy).  He was adored by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who knew him as Papa.
