Obituary of Marilyn Ann Hauck

June 1, 1943 – Calgary, Alberta

September 14, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Marilyn Ann Hauck passed from this earth in the early morning of Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the age of 78 years.  Her family was by her side to provide comfort and remind her of how loved she was. Her soul was released from any pain and suffering.

Born in Calgary, Marilyn spent her childhood in Beiseker and moved to Calgary upon her graduation. Her main career was in insurance, until she took a break to raise her and Dick’s son, Tyler. She ended her working career with All Beef Catering, where she enjoyed connecting with regular and new customers. Many people might know her from the craft and woodworking side business she operated with her husband, where they spent every weekend at the Millarville Farmers’ Market. They may also have enjoyed playing a game of crib with her, or one of the drinks she poured for them while volunteering at the Marlborough Park Community Centre.

Marilyn’s friendly and outgoing personality made it easy for her to make friends, of which she had many. She enjoyed going on trips and lending her ear and advice to anyone who wanted it. Being with family and carrying on family traditions was something she cherished. Marilyn always made sure you left with a full tummy and a package to take with you, ensuring it remained that way. Anyone who knew Marilyn was touched by her kindness, and she left her imprint on their hearts.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Richard “Dick”, son Tyler Hauck (Kristi Patton), sister Eleanor (Trevor) Williams, nephew Bryce (Heather) Williams, brother Richard (Lorraine) Sempowich, nephew Michael Sempowich, niece Meghan (Trevor) Olson and their son Will. She is also survived by Dick’s siblings, Marguerite, Barbara Anne, Robert and Raymond, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Mary in 1983 and Alec in 1965; Dick’s parents, Barbara and Michael; and Dick’s brothers, Melvin and Wayne. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
