Regina Wojtowicz of Calgary, AB, passed away at the Chinook Care Centre on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 102 years.

Regina was born August 14, 1919 in a village called Kornica, Poland. She immigrated to Canada in 1947, landed at Pier 21 in Halifax and journeyed by train to Calgary. Here she met, fell in love and married her husband Antoni. Regina loved gardening in her early years.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church and the SPK Polish Combatants Association in Calgary, where she worked tirelessly volunteering her time. 

Regina will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Christina and son-in-law Fritz Mayer; niece Zofia Szabo, and nephew Stanislaw (Aleksandra) Korczewski and their families. She was predeceased by her loving husband Antoni in 1998 and her nephew-in-law Lajos (Louis) Szabo in 2020.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11:00  a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chinook Care Centre, especially the Richards Way Unit for the exemplary care and compassion over the past five and a half years.

Mum, you are now with our Lord and you will always be with us in our hearts.
