Obituary of Caesar Orfei

June 8, 1940 – Daeniken, Switzerland
October 5, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Caesar Orfei, beloved husband of Sue Orfei (nee Sooknanan), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

Caesar was born in Daeniken, Switzerland, and attended the University of Basel in Switzerland, where he obtained a degree in architecture before immigrating to Canada in 1962 at the age of 22. He enjoyed travelling, gardening, going for coffee and giving out candies to everyone he met. His most memorable vacation was a solo road trip he took across the U.S.A. when he was 26.

Besides his loving wife Sue, Caesar is survived by his sons, Nigel (Angela) of Fredericton, NB, and Newell (Camillla) of Calgary, AB; daughter Nicole (Josh) of Anchorage, Alaska, and six grandchildren, Nayan and Dhiren of Fredericton, NB, Oliver and Calista of Anchorage, Alaska, Mateo and Kiran of Calgary, AB.  Caesar will also be missed by his brothers, Silvan (Doris) of Lucerne, Switzerland and Romeo (Andrea) of Switzerland; sister Elisabeth of Toronto, ON, as well as numerous extended family in Trinidad and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Adelheid Orfei (nee Donati), father Julius Orfei, and sister Giulietta Orfei.
