Obituary of Garry Emil Mayan

Garry Mayan, beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 60 years.

Garry Mayan was born on July 3rd, 1961. From a young age, Garry had a passion for horses. That passion eventually led to a fourteen year career as an outrider with the WPCA. He tried his hand at driving a wagon in 1991.  He retired from the sport in 1997.

The only thing Garry loved more than the chuckwagons was his family. He worked so hard to provide for his family. He will forever live on through them.

Garry is survived by his wife Debbie; his two daughters Kaitlyn (Nathan) and Stephanie; his step-son Kyle; and his precious granddaughter Presley.  Garry is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Denese (Allan), Kevan (Jody), Roxane (Don), Teresa and Brian (Melinda); as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.

Garry was predeceased by his father and mother, Kevan and Esther; and by his step-son Craig.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow at the Abbeydale Community Association (821 Abbeydale Drive NE, Calgary, AB).

Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
