Obituary of Ann Cousins

August 3, 1945 – Harpenden, England
October 9, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Ann Cousins on Saturday, October 09, 2021 in Calgary.

Ann was born on August 3, 1945 in Harpenden, England. She immigrated to Canada with her husband John Cousins and their two children to Red Deer, where she resided for most of her life.

Ann cherished her trips back home to visit family and friends in England, always enjoying a good cup of tea accompanied with a scone, clotted cream and jam. She loved the English countryside, snowdrops and “daffies.” She also loved everything about the Rocky Mountains. Ann spent many happy years working and playing in Canmore, Banff, and Jasper areas.

Ann lived a quiet minimalist life and thoroughly enjoyed her love of nature. She often took long walks at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre. Her favorite time of year was fall with all the brilliant colours.

Ann will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son Paul (Lisa), her daughter Julie (Tom), her brother Don Large (Jen) and their sons, Kevin and Neil; grandchildren, Brittanee, Paris, Marina, Mark. She will also be remembered by other family members and many close friends. She was predeceased by her mother Ivy, father Percy, and brothers, Mick and John.

There will be no service held. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Ann’s name to Waskasoo Environmental Society. Kerry Wood Nature Centre and Historic Fort Normandeau: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/14062
